Trends from the US and new legislation underway in the EU will change this priority, and it will make the collection, storage, access and use of customer data a board and C-level responsibility. Data security will be prioritized before data collection. Data will not be collected without people’s knowledge and consent or their ability to change and delete them.
The companies will only collect, store and use customer data as long as is necessary for establishing and maintaining a relevant and meaningful dialogue with their customers. This will require that customer data from all customer touchpoints are collected, stored and accessed from one single
